Summer 2018 Message from the President
Greetings to all Heritage members! I hope this finds everyone in good health and enjoying the summer show season. I have the sad duty of reporting the death of our past president and board
member Carl Tuttle. Carl passed away on May 4th, at the Pawnee, Oklahoma show where he had been a fixture for many years and was the expert in demonstrating the hill climb with his 40-horse
Case steam engine. A tribute and final whistle was performed in his honor at the high ramp at one o’clock on Saturday, May 5th, at the show grounds. He will be missed!
We are getting ready for the J.I. Case Collector’s show at Greenville, Illinois the end of July and looking forward to seeing many of you there. Our Case Heritage EXPO will be in Boonville, Missouri on September 13–16 on the Missouri River Valley Steam Engine show grounds right on Interstate 70, about halfway from St. Louis to Kansas City. We will be electing three directors this year at the EXPO. Two of the directors will be running again and there will be a vacancy because of Carl’s death. If anyone is interested in filling this position, please let me know so we can get you on the ballot.
Here at home the sorghum is in the ground and the yard needs mowing again. We are getting plenty of rain, and since spring only lasted about two days, summer is giving us plenty of warm weather.
We look forward to seeing you at the Case shows this year. Until then, good health and safe travels. — Jim
